JUNE 30 – Fire service and industry media veteran Bill Carey has joined First Arriving in the newly created role of Fire/EMS Content Marketing Manager.

Carey will drive social media, brand awareness and content marketing programs across our portfolio of department, agency, B2B, non-profit, and association clients and partners, as well as our own product and service offerings.

Bill was most recently Online News Manager with Clarion Fire & Rescue Group (formerly Penwell), managing news, microsites and industry content on various sites including FirefighterNation.com, JEMS and Fire Engineering. “Our relationship with Bill goes back over 20 years, first at our own department and later as one of the most dedicated, passionate members of our content team at Firehouse.com and FirefighterNation.com,” First Arriving CEO Dave Iannone said. “As our company grows, having subject matter experts like Bill truly enhances the power of how we serve the industry in so many ways.”

A lifelong Firefighter/EMT, Bill last served actively as a lieutenant with the Hyattsville (MD) Volunteer Fire Department where he is now a life member.

Neal Award for Best Subject-Related Series. He also wrote field reports and content creation for industry manufacturers, including meeting with manufacturers and fire departments using the products.

Bill is known for being a leading source of information on firefighter fatality data in the United States and he has presented on this topic at Andy Frederick Training Days, the Harrisburg Fire Expo, and for fire departments and organizations, in-person and online. He also assists each year with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend, working as part of their social media team. His work can be regularly viewed at Data Not Drama.
