Nicole Stotelmyer has joined the First Arriving team as a Recruitment & Retention Strategist. An experienced R&R leader, Stotelmyer will focus on helping volunteer fire, rescue and EMS departments develop robust platforms for volunteer staffing growth in addition to supporting the company’s business development efforts.
“I am excited to bring my experience and recruitment/retention successes to First Arriving,” Stotelmyer said. “I’m looking forward to working with a team of professionals dedicated to helping others find and keep dedicated volunteers — and grow their organizations overall with the array of services we provide.” Stotelmyer is passionate about the fire service and loves encouraging others to volunteer in their community.
“Nicole is a creative, detail oriented and forward thinking volunteer recruiter who has helped many organizations realize success,” First Arriving Vice President Tiger Schmittendorf said. “We look forward to her being able to help so many other folks take their retention and recruitment efforts to a whole new level. She is a valued addition to our growing team.”
Stotelmyer has served as the Recruitment & Retention Coordinator for the Washington County, Maryland Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association since 2014. There she organized recruitment and retention efforts for 29 volunteer departments, worked with local community groups and government agencies, created dynamic new recruitment efforts, helped strengthen junior and high school programs and developed a monthly video R&R program. She has also been a panelist and presenter at regional and national fire service events.
Prior to taking on the role with Washington County, Nicole worked in Group Sales at the Whitetail Resort.
