Integration with Operative IQ Disseminates Timely Information At North Shore Fire Rescue

North Shore Fire Rescue serves the northeast section of Milwaukee County, WI, which has a population of approximately 65,000. North Shore protects 25 square miles including the city of Glendale and the surrounding villages of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay.

“The dissemination of timely information is critical in the public safety world,” says North Shore Fire Chief Daniel Tky.  “At North Shore Fire/Rescue, we’ve always looked for innovative and creative ways to gather and disseminate timely information.”

To accomplish this, North Shore deployed Operative IQ, an operations management software for first responders, about four years ago. “Operative IQ has improved the reliability of our supply chain and logistics, fleet maintenance and narcotics tracking, but we still struggled with a way to make that information ‘forward facing’ and easily accessible in near-real time for our shift personnel,” explains Tky.

“About two years ago, we reached out to First Arriving after hearing about their dashboard product at a local trade-show.  We saw an opportunity to push out critical shift, weather, staffing and training information on an easy to digest platform and began implementation across all five of our stations. We quickly learned that important information lived in two different spots for us, on the custom status boards we’d worked with Operative IQ to create and on the First Arriving Dashboard. We reached out to both companies to see if there was a way to ensure our crews could see this crucial information from both systems in a singular spot.”

The First Arriving team worked with Operative IQ to integrate North Shore’s operations data along with other features on the First Arriving Dashboards, creating a singular spot to house mission critical information.

“We’ve been blown away with the value we have realized by having our Operative IQ data integrated into a cycling station dashboard,” says Tky. “This service has improved productivity and compliance throughout our organization.  Our station dashboards are now the ‘go to’ for up to the minute critical information that helps to keep our organization running smoothly.”
