Recruitment Project Spotlight: United Communities VFD (MD)

First Arriving and the recruitment team at United Communities developed solutions to meet the department’s needs, including a brand new website, a custom video package and a Prospective Members Guide.

The United Communities Volunteer Fire Department in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland started working with the First Arriving team in 2017. UCVFD was looking for long lasting technology and marketing solutions to showcase the volunteer opportunities available at the department.

Together, First Arriving and the recruitment team at United Communities developed solutions to meet the department’s needs, including a brand new website, a custom video package and a Prospective Members Guide.

Since launching in October 2018, there have been nearly 6,000 visitors to the UCVFD.org website and there have been over 40 people that have inquired on the website about joining the department. Browse United Communities VFD’s website at https://www.ucvfd.org/.

The United Communities recruitment video shoot took place in April 2018. In addition to a main video showcasing the department overall, our video team interviewed several volunteers about their experiences. Since editing wrapped up in summer 2018, UCVFD’s videos have been viewed thousands of times and have worked to bring many applicants to the department’s doors.

UCVFD worked with the First Arriving Recruitment and Design teams to create a Prospective Member’s Guide that showcases the department’s brand, while highlighting the values that make United Communities so special.
